About FPV
This page covers first-person-view drones as weapons: small, cheap aircraft flown through a camera feed. In Ukraine, FPV drones costing a few hundred dollars routinely destroy armoured vehicles worth millions.
The Pentagon is buying them in bulk through its Drone Dominance Program. Of the 30,000 one-way attack drones it ordered in March, 16,680 had passed government inspection by 15 October. The next round sets prices in advance: about 60,000 drones for $450 million, at $5,000 for a long-range drone and $3,000 for a short-range one, warhead extra.
Every drone in that round must keep working under radio jamming and without satellite navigation. Fibre-optic control, which leaves no radio link to jam, is encouraged.
Armies are also building their own. Polish military units have signed 3.56 million złoty (about $907,000) of contracts since October 2025 for 3D printers, tools and parts to build drones, by FlightBrief's count of the award notices.

The first FPV drone with a native 360° camera and the first with omnidirectional obstacle sensing. At 455 g it lives outside every sub-250 g exemption, and 23 minutes is what you get.
Antigravity A1
Antigravity (Insta360)
The first drone with a built-in 8K 360-degree camera, flown through goggles and a one-hand grip rather than sticks, at 249 g. New enough that nobody has flown it for a year, and $1,599 buys a way of flying as much as an aircraft.
