Fortem Technologies is a US counter-UAS company headquartered in Pleasant Grove, Utah, producing radar-based drone detection systems and autonomous net-capturing interceptor drones. Its approach combines detection and physical defeat in a single autonomous system without requiring human operators to control the intercept. Primary customers are airports, sports venues, military installations, and government agencies.

Fortem is private and does not disclose revenue. It has raised roughly $100 million, with investors including Boeing HorizonX, Mubadala Investment Company and Lockheed Martin Ventures.
2026 was the year its federal position hardened. In January the Pentagon selected DroneHunter as its first purchase under the Replicator-2 initiative. In February the company was awarded a three-year, $18 million US Army contract to provide counter-drone systems and support services at Army sites worldwide, deploying TrueView R30 radars feeding the SkyDome command-and-control platform. Also in February it was selected to provide counter-drone protection for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Department of Homeland Security named Fortem as the only small business among seven prime contractors on a five-year counter-drone contract vehicle worth more than $1 billion.
Fortem has said it demonstrated a five-on-five autonomous swarm takedown, detecting, tracking and neutralising multiple hostile drones simultaneously. That is a company claim about its own demonstration.
Why It Matters
Fortem’s autonomous intercept approach — using a drone to physically catch a drone, with no human pilot in the loop — addresses the central limitation of RF jamming, which is restricted or outright illegal in most civilian environments. That legal distinction, rather than the technology alone, is why a net-capture system can be sold to a stadium or an airport when a jammer cannot.
The Replicator-2 selection and the World Cup contract matter more than their dollar values suggest. Both are the kind of visible, high-consequence deployment that establishes a vendor as a default choice, and the counter-drone market is at the stage where procurement precedent is worth more than any single award.
