FlyFocus is a Warsaw-based drone and avionics manufacturer founded in 2017 by Albert Swierczynski and Igor Skawinski. The company designs and manufactures complete UAV platforms in-house - airframes, avionics, payloads, ground control equipment, and tethered power systems - targeting NATO-aligned defense and government customers. Its vertical integration covers hardware and software without dependence on third-party component suppliers.

Business and Funding

FlyFocus is private. In February 2026 it raised €4.5 million led by ffVC, with participation from the NCBR Investment Fund, the venture capital arm of Poland’s National Centre for Research and Development. This was its first institutional round after eight years of self-funded growth.

The proceeds are earmarked for a dedicated manufacturing facility in Poland, which the company said would be operational in the second half of 2026, along with international sales expansion and two new UAV platforms scheduled for introduction later in the year. Both are company plans rather than completed milestones. Revenue is not disclosed.

FlyFocus says it works with the Polish Armed Forces under direct military contracts and counts both the Polish and Ukrainian ministries of defence among its customers, with platforms deployed in active operations in Ukraine. Its portfolio spans surveillance platforms, loitering and strike systems and counter-drone technology, and includes CableGuard, a patented tethered UAV for persistent aerial surveillance. The company says all its systems are designed, built and supported in-house using components sourced exclusively from NATO-aligned suppliers, a non-Chinese component policy it adopted from the outset.

Why It Matters

FlyFocus sits at the intersection of two converging trends: Eastern European defense industrialization and NATO’s push to onshore drone production away from non-allied suppliers. Poland’s position as a frontline NATO state with significant defense budget growth makes it a natural base for sovereign drone manufacturing. The NCBR Investment Fund’s participation signals Polish government alignment with FlyFocus’s production ambitions.
