DJI’s Lito X1 has cleared US regulatory certification and retail packaging has been confirmed, putting the sub-250g foldable drone on the edge of its American market debut.
The Lito X1 weighs under 249 grams — the threshold that exempts drones from stricter FAA registration requirements in many operating scenarios. That weight class is increasingly crowded, but DJI’s entry adds a three-axis gimbal for stabilization and HEVC video compression support, both of which are uncommon at this size. The gimbal places it above the Mini 4 Pro’s mechanical stabilization tier in terms of smoothness for cinematic work.
What the Fly More Combo Plus Kit Includes
The launch configuration is the Fly More Combo Plus kit, which bundles the DJI RC 2 controller, multiple flight batteries, a charging hub, spare propellers, and a shoulder bag. Quick-release propellers are included. Extended flight time across multiple batteries is the core pitch for creators who shoot longer sessions.
HEVC support reduces file sizes for 4K footage without quality loss and integrates with Final Cut Pro, which is a practical workflow advantage for Mac-based editors.
Why the Sub-250g Class Matters for DJI
The under-250g category has regulatory significance across most major markets — the EU, UK, Canada, and the US all have lighter registration and operational requirements for drones below this threshold. DJI’s Mini series built its consumer dominance on this exemption. The Lito X1 appears to be a parallel line targeting the same regulatory advantage with a different form factor and feature set.
Beta units are already in distribution. With certifications secured and retail packaging confirmed, a full US launch is imminent.
